Q1: Explain the difference between Assignment and Employment Terms **What they're testing**: Whether you've actually worked in Global HR vs just reading docs.

Assignment = the specific role/position an employee holds Employment Terms = the contractual terms (salary, grade, hours)

In a single legal employer, you can have multiple assignments but typically one set of employment terms.

Q2: When would you use a Legislative Data Group vs Business Unit? LDGs are for payroll — they define the legislative rules for a country. Business Units are for operational reporting and security. You can have multiple BUs under one LDG.

Q3: What's your approach to designing the Legal Entity structure? Start with tax reporting requirements. Each country's tax authority registration = one legal entity minimum. Then layer in reporting needs and payroll requirements.

Q4: How do you handle retroactive payroll changes? Oracle handles this through the Retropay process. You need to understand: balance adjustments, element entry retroactive components, and the payroll run sequencing.

Q5: Explain Position vs Job Job = generic role definition (Engineer, Manager) Position = specific instance of a job in a specific org unit (Senior Engineer in R&D Team A)

Position management adds headcount control and budgeting capabilities.
